Engineering office

Design shaped by field experience.

Many events take place in venues that are well suited to them, but many also take place in venues that are less so. Our engineering office helps you calculate the energy you need and finds the right solutions for the event: generators, compteurs forains (temporary metered grid connections), grid connections.

Our approach

A design is only valuable if it can be used on site.

A drawing is all the more relevant when it is made by people who have already dealt with it on site.

Technical design expertise and operational knowledge add up: this dual role in engineering and on-site technical management lets us anticipate the weak points that need strengthening, propose pragmatic and efficient solutions, and produce deliverables that the teams on site can genuinely use when the time comes.

We can also design standards-compliant distribution boxes and special adaptors, and put you in touch with the right suppliers.

Our deliverables

From site visit to calculation notes.

Every deliverable carries a full title block (title, author, revision index, status) and a revision history. Bilingual French and English deliverables on request.

Site visit

Analysis of the existing installation, infrastructure, access and technical constraints, with a written report.

Grid connection study

Assessment of the existing network, import capacity, temporary HV or LV connection procedure with the network operator.

Power assessment

Inventory of each trade's requirements, criticality levels (main, backup, UPS) and realistic diversity factors.

Single-line diagram

Overall HV and LV architecture for each site, annotated and indexed, from the delivery point down to the distribution boards.

Site layout plans

Positions of sources, transformers, distribution cabinets and boxes, in line with safety distances and access requirements.

Cable route plans

Routing of power networks, crossing areas and cable protectors, coordinated with the other technical packages.

Calculation notes

Equipment selection, cable sizes, protection selectivity, voltage drop.

Financial analysis

Checking the cost of equipment, cabling and installation, so the budget is planned in advance and kept to.

Our tools

Tools chosen for precise results.

ToolUse
AutoCADCable route plans, single-line diagrams, site layout plans (DWG and PDF).
Dark Side Power AssessmentSoftware developed by and for Dark Side Energy: power assessments, single-line diagrams and matching plans, for a fast, standardised first version of the project.
ExcelPower assessments, calculation notes, financial analyses.
MeasurementCalibrated multimeters, an ohmmeter and laser measures for site visits.

Right-sizing

No more, no less than what is needed.

  • Realistic diversity factors. Our coefficients are based on our operational experience, not only on manufacturers' data sheets.
  • Sources as close as possible to the loads. Shorter cable runs, less voltage drop, less equipment deployed.
  • Existing installations first. Using what is already in place whenever possible is more sustainable and more economical.
Our responsible energy approach

Audit and permanent installations

Does your venue host events all year round?

We audit the existing electrical installation and support you as it evolves: custom distribution boxes and cabinets, grid connections, LED lighting.

The goal: an installation suited to how the venue is actually used, simpler for the teams to operate and less energy-hungry.

Made to measure

  • Standards-compliant distribution boxes and special adaptors.
  • Distribution cabinets on metal frames, from 125 A to 400 A.
  • Smart units managing operating hours and power.
  • Flicker-free dimmable LED floodlights.

A venue, an event, a power question?

Send us your plans and known requirements: our engineering office will come back to you with an initial analysis.
